Yes, I’m going to talk about the “People You May Know” section of Facebook. As you can see, Bobby and I both live in Inverness. Bobby likes guns, whereas I do not. He also likes wearing long-sleeved shirts in the middle of the Florida summer, whereas I do NOT. But due to the little similarity that we both live in the same city (which is pretty much large in size, for a small town; approximately 7 thousand people) I must know him.
Now, of course, I’ve added some of the popular people from my graduating class, and a couple girls who’s activities are questionable in nature (seriously, send me an add request and I’ll add you, I’ll add you, even if I don’t know you) so Bobby has a couple of them on his friend’s list, too, but Facebook knows I don’t talk to these people, and never have.
So, the suggestion I’ll make to Facebook: if you have more than 10 friends in common, then put them on as “people you may know” otherwise, if you haven’t talked to mutual friends in at least a month, then don’t show them.
