No Music Challenge [Day 1]

20 07 2008

So I’ve decided to call it the “No Music Challenge.” Technically today isn’t over yet, but really for me it is. I woke up around 8 am and went to work, the entire time I listened to a Pandora station I created. Then once I got home, the real fun started.

I had to mow the lawn [awesome, I know]. Sadly, outside my house isn’t a Mecca for signal, on EDGE nonetheless. Pandora wasn’t really able to play more than one track at a time, same with Last.fm. So I turned to my purchase of Tuner, and it actually delivered good music for the rest of the duration.
I must say, though, just pushing that iPod icon was very tempting.
We’ll see how tomorrow goes.

Food For Thought [No Music Challenge]

20 07 2008

Earlier today I tweeted a thought I had while I was walking through one of my local Windixies. Now that we have the App Store on the iPhone, and in the App Store we have select apps like: Tuner, Last.FM, and Pandora. So, with such powerful music apps, do we really need to fill our iPhones up with music?

Through the creative nature which is the Internet, I immediately got called a “dumbass” by a dude who tweets about once a minute. Although I offered a rebuttal, my friend couldn’t back up his remark. Oh well.
Of course, I know it was slightly a retarded question, like asking a sailor to use a powerboat instead of a sailboat, but I have reason to believe that it was a completely legitimate question.
So, how about it? I think I could go a week without using the iPod app, and just using Tuner, Last.FM, and Pandora. Of course, as you can see from the picture above, my area is still in the stone age of EDGE, but, believe it or not, the apps work just fine.
Anyone dare oppose me?

Podcast: Comimg Soon!

20 07 2008

I know you all are getting antsy about it. I’ve gotten myself prepared for a lovely podcast. Now all I need to do is record it. I’m not telling you the topic, although, you probably can guess. I’m going to aim for recording tomorrow. Thanks for being patient!
